Based in Dayton, Ohio, Matt Brown and Associates is dedicated to supporting businesses in their direct marketing needs.
Bernice Willis has been brokering business-to-business lists since Matt Brown and Associates, her father's list brokerage firm, started in 1987. She attended Wright State University and became president of Matt Brown and Associates during the summer of 2003. Matt Brown and Associates is one of few surviving family-run enterprises in the list business. "You just don't see many families in the list business any more," she notes. "Nearly all my business is with catalog companies. I inherited my clients from my father and I brought on some clients myself," says Willis. "My father was my direct marketing hero and I still miss talking shop with him."
Matt passed away in 2004. He shared with Bernice the principle that one must make their client feel as if they are part of the family and also taught us how to work together in more than just a client-vendor relationship. He genuinely enjoyed being a mentor and friend to many within the business community.
